The Continental is picturesquely placed by the banks of the River Ribble, on the edge of Preston's Avenham and Miller Parks and along the Guild Wheel. This makes it a staple for summer hangouts, along with its large beer garden with seating and green space. During the winter months 'The Snug' - complete with a real fire - provides a cosy retreat to relax and socialise in.

Arts and culture programme

The Continental is Preston's indie culture destination and attracts both residents and visitors from all around Lancashire. When it comes to entertainment the venue has it sussed, hosting its own annual beer festival that sees people visit from all over to experience an abundance of beers and tasty food by the riverside.

Weekends and evenings are also catered for throughout the year, thanks to the pub's busy events programme and adjoining entertainment venue, 'The Boatyard'. These events include live music, theatre, literature, arts, crafts, and festivals as well as film screenings taking place every fortnight.

If you're looking for even more things to do with your spare time, The Continental is home to a number of clubs and special events to get involved in. These include book clubs, creative writing classes, open-mic, poetry nights, vintage fairs, and much more.
