Preston Flag Market has fast become an established outdoor venue space. The large open space benefits from the beautiful Harris building as a backdrop as well as a central location amidst the buzz of the city centre.
The Flag Market has a dedicated programme of events running throughout the Summer months. Street theatre, markets, live music, art installations, sporting activities and even farm animals have featured in the past; each year bringing a new and exciting programme.
The Flag Market hosts the annual Preston Pride event, celebrating equality and diversity in Preston.
Winckley Square Gardens
Preston's green haven in the middle of the city centre, Winckley Square Gardens is a spectacular venue for events as well as a peaceful stroll.
The area lends itself to events such as outdoor theatre, art displays and markets. The greenspace's flower displays, tall trees and recently renovated pathways make a wonderful backdrop for all the events on offer, both mid-week and on weekends.
The historical buildings surrounding the square also have a rich history, available to explore with regular guided walks and talks throughout the year.
Avenham & Miller Parks
Providing a picturesque and peaceful retreat from the city centre, Avenham & Miller Parks boast large greenspaces and stand-out features.
The unique setting of the parks makes for memorable events with the extra awe-factor. Throughout the year the parks host numerous children's events, fairs, concerts, sporting events, performances and much more. The most well-known event the parks host is the annual Egg Rolling event, an Easter egg rolling and celebration event which goes back hundreds of years.

Moor Park is Preston's largest parkland and retains a Green Flag Award, lending its vast amount of greenspace to all kinds of events.
The large greenspaces of the park make the ideal locations for sporting events, funfairs and outdoor cinemas, all of which occur throughout the year. As the venue isn't far from the city centre, it's easily accessible. The handy location makes it the perfect end to the annual Caribbean Carnival, where food, rides and entertainment awaits after the procession.
Situated in Ashton, Ashton Park is just a short drive or bus ride from the city centre. The park's large open spaces lend themselves to sporting and family events. During the summer Ashton Park also hosts Preston's annual Ruffs Dog Show, a great day out for dog owners and all furry friends fans.
As well as Ashton Park's Green Flag awarded spaces, there are also many unique features which create a scenic backdrop for events, including the Georgian house, colonnade of trees and flower displays.
Haslam Park is Preston's Edwardian town park, boasting a Green Flag Award, large open spaces, a nature reserve, ponds, a lake and sporting facilities.
The diverse and picturesque area makes a great venue for family events, with on-site parking making it easily accessible.
The park is a haven for nature and hosts events during the Summer months for children to explore the critters living in the different habitats.
Ribbleton Park consists of large greenspace and is easily accessible by car and bus.
The grounds of Ribbleton Park easily lend themselves to sporting and family events. Past events have seen the park come to life with bubble football, assault courses, live bands and salsa dancing.
Preston Dock makes a scenic place for a variety of events. The dock usually hosts water-related events throughout the year as well as fairs along the waterside.
The popular location is a unique and serene setting, easily accessible and features many other activities and places to eat around the venue.
