Baby pumpkins, huge pumpkins, fancy pumpkins... Preston's pumpkin patches have it all this year.
Pumpkin picking is a family-friendly, fun activity guaranteed to put a smile on kids' faces. Make a day of it with attractions available, or simply grab your pumpkin and go, there are a variety of locations and events where you can get picking this year - and with plenty time to spare before Halloween.
With many places accepting bookings now, make sure to book your place early to avoid disappointment. Each venue advertised is located in Preston or nearby Lancashire locations.
Bradshaws Farm Shop and Garden Centre
Location: Garstang
Dates: Every day in October (9 - 4pm Monday - Saturday, 9:30-3pm Sunday)

Booking required: Yes. Each booking made is per vehicle (not per person) and the £2.50 booking fee is also per vehicle
Based on the A6 in Garstang, Bradshaws Farm Shop and Garden Centre are open for pumpkin picking every day in October. As always their Pumpkin Patch will be full of Pumpkins and Squash in a variety of sizes and colours.
Croston Pumpkin Patch
Location: Croston
Dates: Every weekend from 7 October (9am - 5pm), plus half term 23 to 29 October (9am - 5pm)

Croston Pumpkin Patch can be found at Culshaws Farm for 2023. Not only can you grab your pumpkin here, but the farm also has rides, food and drink stalls, and a maize maze.
Enjoy a free tractor and trailer ride to the patch (departing approximately every 10 minutes), where you can pick your perfect pumpkin fresh from the field. There's lots of fun things to enjoy, including face painting, games, a spooky shop, photo opportunities and much more. Food drink will also be available to purchase from stalls on site, including On Taps Trailers, Flying Pig Pizza Company and Feisty Cow Ice Cream.
Situated on a family farm, Wrampool Pumpkin Patch makes for a truly authentic experience. Aside from pumpkins, they have a mini maize maze, pedal tractors, lots of photo opportunities, ice cream refreshments, gift stalls and much more.
Halloween preparations are underway at Bowland Wild Board Park with pumpkin picking and carving, fancy dress, scavenger hunt, colouring competition, face painting and more.
Explore the Farm this October with Pumpkin Picking, including pumpkins grown on the farm. Get your hands and wellies dirty as you pick your perfect pumpkin. On your way to the pumpkin patch explore the barns and farmyard at Lancashire's Favourite Farm.
Each ticket includes a pumpkin, you can purchase more on the day.
Pumpkin nights
Opening on the 15 October, Dowson's Farm is offering Pumpkin Nights (12 years old and over only). Start the experience with a hot chocolate with baileys and meander through their paddocks full of sleeping animals into the forest before stumbling across their homegrown pumpkin patch glowing by the light of the festoon. Grab your pumpkins before heading back to our courtyard, indulging in seasonal food and drink, watching the stars, toasting marshmallows by the fires and live music.
Each ticket includes a pumpkin. You can purchase more on the day.
Windmill Farm

Windmill Farm are back with their famous pumpkin picking adventure.This ticket includes full day access to Windmill Animal Farm attraction, the Runaway Farm Train and also The Famous Pumpkin Picking Adventure. Each ticket purchased also includes a single pumpkin of your choice. More pumpkins can be purchased on the day, with many varieties, shapes, and sizes to choose from.
Holmeswood Pumpkin Place
Location: Ormskirk
Dates: Every weekend in October and all of half term

Head to Holmeswood Pumpkin Place for a great selection of pumpkins, food, crafts, ice cream, mini fair and more. Dogs are also welcome.
Get ready for a bewitching adventure at the annual pumpkin festival. Expect a jurassic Halloween adventure, a dead scary sunflower maze, pumpkin carving zone and more. One free pumpkin per paying child.
