Church Cottage Museum, within the grounds of Broughton Primary School, offers the opportunity for people of all ages to become historical detectives.
The restored cottage tells the story of its life as a domestic dwelling in the Tudor and Victoria periods, its life as an inn and as a school room.
In a restoration supervised by architects and engineers, with a fine attention to authenticity and simplicity, and advised by local historian Paul Cross, you can see how ordinary people - you and I - lived 400 years ago.
Your visit will be guided by one of the people responsible for steering the project to restore Church Cottage as a valuable historic resource for schools and other visitor groups.
