The Central Bus Station is located at Tithebarn Street Preston PR1 1YT (the addition of the post code will assist coach drivers not familiar with the area to find the location on MultiMap or find us via the vehicles Sat Nav system).

The Central Bus Station is the largest bus station in Europe with 74 departure bays and is a major transport hub for coach and bus services locally and nationally and, provides 1,000 multi storey Pay and Display car parking spaces. The bus station concourse provides a range of facilities e.g. public toilets, cafeteria, tourist information, public telephones, public internet access, news agent/confectionary kiosks, vending machines etc.

Centrally located within the city centre and a short walk from the West coast main line railway station; if approaching from Blackpool leave the M55 Motorway at J1 and follow the A6 to the city centre. If approaching from the North leave the M6 Motorway at J32 and follow the A6 to the city centre. If approaching from the South leave the M6 at J31 and follow the A6 to the city centre.

The following departure bays set aside for use by casual coach and bus operators:

1,2,37,38,39,40,41,42,43,44,45,46,47,48,49 and 50

On arrival coach and bus drivers who have not reserved a departure bay prior to their visit should park in one of these bays and then report to the Security/CCTV Control Room opposite departure bay 31. There is a scale of fees for casual coach parking.

The central bus station is open from 04:30 to midnight Monday to Saturday and from 05:30 to midnight on Sundays. The bus station is closed on Christmas Day and the 1st January.

Important Safety Message - For their own safety, drivers and passengers must not cross the bus station aprons. Drivers and passengers must enter and leave the bus station concourse via the subways. Drivers must only allow passengers to board and alight from their vehicle when parked in a departure bay. Drivers must advise all alighting passengers to enter the concourse and not to cross the aprons. Drivers must not allow passengers collecting or depositing luggage to move behind parked vehicles.
