Romeo & Juliet, Hamlet, Macbeth, Twelfth Night, The Tempest, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Othello, The Taming of the Shrew, The Winter’s Tale, As You Like It, Julius Caesar, Richard III, The Merchant of Venice, Much Ado About Nothing, Anthony and Cleopatra, King Lear and Henry V.

The UK’s largest youth drama Festival comes to the North West in October 2008. This year 50 theatres, across the country, will stage 500 productions of Shakespeare’s plays. Each night 4 local schools stage 4 different half-hour plays.

The Shakespeare Schools Festival offers young people from every secondary school the opportunity and support to perform abridged productions of Shakespeare’s most famous plays in their local professional theatre. Following a training day for teacher/directors with the MAP Consortium, workshops with the UK’s National Youth Theatres, and a sixth month journey of rehearsal, these talented young people are now ready to step into the Shakespearean spotlight…
