When James I visited the Tower in 1617 he feasted on lamb, pork, poultry and sirloin steak. The choicest cuts of meat and fresh vegetables are all available at our monthly market.
'The Merchant of Hoghton' food producers' market held all year round on the third Sunday monthly in the Great Barn has over 50 stall holders.
Featured on Radio 4’s 'The Food Programme' as the county’s largest local producers' market and a fantastic showcase for Lancashire produce.
Visitors travel from all over the North of England to sample and purchase the produce and to enjoy the impromptu picnics on the Tilting Green in front of the Tower.
