The UCLan Campus Masterplan sets out a 10 year vision for the area focusing on opening up the campus with a new square and social space, bringing Preston city centre closer to UCLan through landscaping and connections via Friargate and Corporation Street - key links to the city centre.
Building upon the existing student village there is scope for higher quality student accommodation supported by a vibrant food and drink offer. This will attract further students, post graduates and international students whilst also supporting the retention of graduates and young professionals to commence their working career in Preston. The £18m Friargate Student Accommodation scheme comprising 244 fully furnished ensuite bedrooms has established a new benchmark in the area.
