Preston is recognised as one of the greenest cities in the country, with over two-thirds of it's area being either rural or green open spaces. The city has seven parks and six of these have been awarded ‘Green Flag’ status in recognition of good management, cleanliness and nature conservation. A wide range of events are held within these catering for many different interests from fun days to hands-on nature events.
Brockholes is a new kind of nature reserve - an unreserved nature reserve, featuring a spectacular floating visitor village with a gift shop, local food store and restaurant a full events program is on offer.
