2012 with be a year long festival for Preston as it is our once every 20 year celebration of Preston Guild
Colorful carnivals and victorian traditions make up the annual events calendar in Preston. The Victorian tradition of Easter Egg rolling is still going strong in Avenham Park every Easter Monday. Preston Mela is our multi cultural celebration of South Asian culture. Avenham Park becomes filled with traditional music and sweet smells of freshly prepared Asian dishes. In July, the site of the former docklands welcomes around 80 boats and barges for the Riversway Festival. The marina becomes the site for music and family fun. Each August bank holiday Preston's Caribbean community host the Caribbean Carnival. The colourful and musical procession winds from Moor Park through the city centre.
