You will visit sites such as the first gas works, the obelisk where the opening ceremony took place in 1816, the coal yards, and some of the buildings first lit by gas.

How to take part

Meet at the Robert Peel statue on Winckley Square. Though you can just turn up, it is recommended you book your place online by visiting Eventbrite - "Preston What a Gas!" Guided Walk.
