Preston Guild City

Preston docks at night.

The importance of training, skills and employability for people in Preston will be the topic of discussion at the first meeting of the year for business network Preston Partnership.

As the city continues to grow and attract investment, the importance of skills and employability for local people has never been greater for businesses and organisations with the passion and drive to champion Preston.

Lisa Moizer, Manager and Co-ordinator of the Lancashire Skills and Employment Hub, Professor StJohn Crean is Pro Vice-Chancellor of Clinical, Health and Research at Uclan and Dr Lis Smith, Principal and Chief Executive of Preston’s College, will hold a panel at the event.

Lisa Moizer said:

“Investing in skills and training is vital for businesses to remain competitive and grow. This meeting will be a great chance for businesses and organisations in Preston to hear about the latest economic and labour market data, developments, and network with their peers.

“I will be discussing the latest data and forecasts as well as developments in this field and look forward to sharing the panel with two excellent speakers who will share a wealth of information and insight.”

The breakfast event will provide businesses with an opportunity to learn more about accessing skills and training. There will also be a networking opportunity with light refreshments.

The event is only open to Preston Partnership members, but it’s easy for businesses and organisations to sign up to be part of the group.
