Free learning, training and education for those self-employed...

Community Union are working to support self-employed in the Preston area by offering free learning, training and education to everybody.

Flexible skill development is vital in today’s ever-changing world, so if you’re self-employed how do you stay on top of your game?

Community recognises one of the greatest barriers for the self-employed to uptake learning is cost, especially as taking time out to invest in training may also mean passing up the next paid opportunity. Furthermore, the self-employed typically have unpredictable work schedules, which can make finding regular time to undertake training challenging.

Community's free offer allows for a practical and flexible approach to learning and development as training can be tailored, making your agenda as bespoke as you need it to be.

Examples include:

  • Setting up your Business
  •  Bid Writing
  • Compliance/Data Protection
  • Business Improvement Techniques
  • Self-Assessment
  • Business Expenses
  • Capital Allowances
  • Tax and National Insurance
  • Literacy and Numeracy

Plus, many more

This education offer is open to both members and non-members. Extra benefits are available through membership and include:

  • Access to legal advice
  • Advice on debt recovery
  • Recovering late payments
