Guild 2012: Canal Boat Festival

Three day family event in park and boat festival alongside on Lancaster Canal to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the opening of the Ribble Link in conjunction with the Guild festivities. Teddy bears' picnic on Sunday. Events, attractions and entertainments for all the family.

This event will see many boaters gathering on the banks of the Lancaster Canal at Haslam Park to celebrate Preston Guild and the 10th anniversary of the Ribble Link.

This is a family event with entertainment, activities and catering. There will also be lots of boats to look at along the canal and boating related activities to enjoy.

Sunday will be dedicated to a "Picnic in the park" for teddy bears and their families.

During this Guild year the Lancaster Canal is the venue for the Campaign Festival- celebrating the 10th anniversary of the opening of the Ribble Link and encouraging visitors to the Preston area of the Canal. There will be plenty to do and see for the boaters, big boys, who like their toys, lots of activities for children, excellent catering facilities and entertainment for those who just wish to relax.

A series of musical and family friendly events will be arranged in the park during this weekend. While you are visiting the canal it is an ideal opportunity to cruise and enjoy 42 lock free miles of beautiful Lancashire countryside towards the Lake District- through the historic towns of Garstang and Lancaster.

Haslam Park is located on the Northwest side of Preston, adjacent to Blackpool Rd (main entrance via Bristow Avenue), There are also entrances on Cottam Lane and from the Lancaster Canal. It is easily accessible by car, bicycle or foot and is connected to the cycle route. alighting on Blackpool Road.
