The regalia party, carrying the superb civic regalia of the ancient borough of Preston, will lead the Guild Mayor, dressed in full ceremonial robes, and the civic party, onto the steps of the Harris Museum and Art Gallery.
After a fanfare of trumpets and at 10.30am precisely there will be a call for silence with “Oyez! Oyez! Oyez!” so that the Clerk of the Guild can read the proclamation. The Guild Mayor will address the crowd, bringing the focus back to the Guild of 2012.
Before and after the pomp and ceremony, the crowd will be entertained with music and street theatre to build anticipation for the Trades Procession which will reach the city centre around 12 noon on this day.
The Final Proclamation takes place on Saturday 1st September at 10am.
